Originally, Forfade was just an Aussie progressive/alternative band influenced by the likes of Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus, Cog, Sleep Parade, The Butterfly Effect, etc. But now, Forfade is almost like a split personality. As well as having its loud riffs and chord progressions with the occasional melting guitar solo (thanks to Mike Kugal), Forfade tends to take a step back and play unplugged every now and then. This acoustic 'alter-ego' sees no change in lead vocals (Dan) but an interesting jump from drums to acoustic guitar by Josh, all backed by Zain on bass. Recently, Forfade has played a few acoustic shows with unplugged versions of a few originals, which has lead to the official recording of an acoustic 'Forgive and Forget'. Song writing has always been a strong point in Forfade's progression and with the aid of acoustic arrangements, their songs have been able to showcase in a different way.
Lately a burst of recording has taken place and bunch of new songs have all been recorded in a home-made studio at Josh's house. All the music was mixed and produced by Josh.
