Dead Modern

How you doin?
Dead Modern’s roots DIG down to late 2007. A five-piece hardcore rock outfit that was originally pulled together to play a small local show. After that show a bearded man with a strange glow appeared and spoke "man that shits dope as a mother licker!" It was a sign and things began to take a more serious but fun path.

Early SEEDS go back to Tyler, Matt and Blake's pre-pubic success with sneaking into pubs to play as a cover band. Getting a lot of respect from the older musicians around the town for there ability to do every cover the justice it deserved. Playing shows all over NSW and some big stages including the Australian Youth Olympics. As that scene got GAY and they grew hair in weird places they developed a desire to become a more serious band and began writing their own music. Long time friend Andy (formerly gobolion guitarist) began jamming as a second guitarist. A few different bass players had been through, and a call was made to Locky to come down from the hills.

Together a sound was made, taking things from brutal to melodic in a flick of a safety pin. A common goal was evident, UNSPOKEN, but u could feel it and it was TENSE. To play music for music's sake and to never reach a peak because there should never be a best they can do. The next thing is always going to be better and bigger, to keep things fun and changing.

With four out of five members all being long time guitarists the writing sessions never seem to lack ideas with things coming thick and fast and hence the very random changing riffs and structures and often complex conversations over the smallest of details.

Like it should be of course the music gets translated to an all-new extreme level when performed live, with a much bigger fuller sound. The band gives their audience's a chance to get violent, giggle and have dang good times. There’s no "badass" imagine going on because no one is afraid to shrug away that metal face and have a laugh. Frankly none of us could pull it off, apart from Tyler. Recently having won the cockup, or Rock-Up Battle Of The Bands (the real winners) Dead Modern have had a really good run of local shows, with plenty more in the works. Also soon to take there sound out from the cow=patties and STICKS into the cement covered cities.
